“As Time Goes By” jazz ensemble is presenting a concert to raise money for hurricane victims.

The concert will feature several guest musicians, who are donating their time to perform with the band. Featured musicians are Megan Weikleenget (singer, US Coast Guard Band), Dick Campo (bandleader and drummer), Tim Fioravanti (music teacher and drummer, Waterford High School), Andrew LeFebvre (music teacher and saxophonist, Fitch High School), and Bryce Call (lead trumpet, US Coast Guard Band.)

There is no charge to attend the concert, but donations are requested. All money raised will go towards One America Appeal, which is in support of the victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. One America Appeal is endorsed by all living former presidents. The band is accepting cash or check, payable to: “GBPLF One America Appeal,” and is not collecting supplies.

“As Time Goes By” is a community jazz ensemble that is affiliated with the Noank-Mystic Community Band and performs at community events and concerts. The band is made up of local amateur musicians who rehearse together every Thursday night at the Groton Senior Center. The music director is Sean Nelson, who is also a trombonist with the US Coast Guard Band.
