After the success of our virtual Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz (PMMNJ) concert series, we are proud to continue our virtual Monday Night Jazz concerts on a monthly basis through the rest of 2020.
The series kicks off September 14 with guitarist Dan Liparini and his quartet with Jen Allen, piano, Alex Tremblay, bass and Eric Hallenbeck, drums. This a timely concert in that Dan’s brand new recording, “Tessellations” will be released the same week as the concert.
October 12 will feature Warren Byrd and Saskia Laroo. World-renowned trumpeter Saskia Laroo and international pianist/vocalist Warren Byrd together perform original material as well as jazz standards, from their album “Two of a Kind”, as well as new unrecorded music.
November 13 is HJS’ 60th Anniversary Concert and Fundraiser featuring a very special guest artist. Check back for further details (to be announced).
And on December 14, Michael Carabello will perform a solo piano concert. Mike is a multi-talented pianist in the tri-state area. Carabello is a product of the Artist’s Collective Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz . He has Performed at The White House for First Lady Michelle Obama, The Side Door Jazz Club, and The New Haven “On The Green” Jazz Festival.
