Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search Finals
Saturday March 8 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
| FreeThe stage is set for an inspiring afternoon of jazz as the Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search Finals take place at the Litchfield Community Center, 421 Bantam Rd, Litchfield. Seventeen outstanding young musicians, selected from a competitive pool of audition tapes, will vie for scholarships to the 2025 sessions of Litchfield Jazz Camp (LJC) at The Frederick Gunn School this July.
The competition begins at 2 PM and is free and open to the public.
Finalists, ranging in age from 13 to 17, showcase their talents on saxophone, drums, piano, bass, guitar, trombone, and baritone horn. Each performer will take the stage for a solo backed by a world-class professional jazz trio—an extraordinary opportunity for young musicians to gain real-world performance experience. Competitors hail from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and as far as Texas.
This year’s house trio features Connecticut’s very own GRAMMY-winning pianist Zaccai Curtis (Best Latin Jazz Album, 2025), bassist Conway Campbell, and drummer Ian Carroll—all esteemed Litchfield Jazz Camp faculty and acclaimed recording artists. Adjudicators include Albert Rivera, Don Braden, Vita Muir, and the trio members. Winners will be announced following deliberations in the late afternoon.
The Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search is made possible through the generous support of The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation, Northwest Community Bank, and friends of Litchfield Performing Arts.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of jazz. Last year’s event played to a full house—arrive early for the best seats! Jazz thrives on both performers and audiences, so come be part of the experience.
