On November 15, 2023, Joel Frahm (tenor saxophone) returned to his High School alma mater for a day of music and education as part of the Hartford Jazz Society Fall concert/workshop series. The day commenced with an afternoon workshop, open to the public, where Joel imparted some of his valuable wisdom and experience to our students of jazz.

The day’s activities were followed by an evening concert that kicked off with the incredibly talented Hall High School Jazz Orchestra, directed by James Antonucci, with special guest soloist Joel Frahm. Then, for the headliner event, Joel presented his quartet with Mimi Jones, bass; Luis Perdomo, piano; and Mark Whitfield Jr., drums for a spirited concert. Lucky for us, Maurice D. Robertson documented the entire day in pictures.

So, if you wish to re-live this jazz-filled day, or missed all or part of the workshop and concerts, click  on the images or links below to see Maurice’s photo galleries presented in three parts.
