Friday April 11 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
| FreeJordan Piper – keys
Rob Duguay – bass
Nadav Snir-Zelniker – drums
The Low Key Trio is a New York City based group founded by CT bassist/composer Rob Duguay back in 2008. The trio then enjoyed a long and steady stretch of weekly performances for ten years (2014-2024) in Gramercy area of NYC, which is certainly more of a rarity these days. The group is well-versed in the sub-genres of jazz and also perform original music ranging from grooves and New Orleans “street beats” to more “literate and slightly tricky derivations of hard bop”, as the NY Times once wrote. Duguay and Piper met in 2005 at William Paterson University, studying ensemble work under jazz legends Mulgrew Miller, Harold Mabern, Vincent Herring, and myriad others. Snir-Zelniker rounds out the trio with his incredible brush work, mastery of styles from swing to samba, and the result is bliss! Don’t miss out on this rare CT appearance.
