Mike Casey is a Hartford trained, New York based saxophonist. He attended the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and University of Hartford’s Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz (BA). He then completed Berklee’s master’s program in Contemporary Performance and Music Production at their Valencia, Spain campus.
“On Monday May 4 to celebrate International Star Wars Day (May The 4th Be With You) I’m releasing a new animated music video for my new version of Hartford / Star Wars inspired song Dagobah: http://found.ee/dagobahvideo. It’s a song I wrote in 2015 after graduating from Hartt, inspired by my Hartford mentors from GHAA to the Jackie McLean Institute to the local scene, drawing parallels to Hartford not being a major city, yet having masters to learn from like Yoda on planet Dagobah. It features fellow Hartt alumni Matt Dwonszyk on bass and Corey Garcia on drums.
