“Giving Thanks” Concert to Showcase Classical, Jazz, and American Standards

| FreeLitchfield Performing Arts and Milton Congregational Church proudly present “Giving Thanks,” a concert featuring a captivating blend of classical, jazz, and popular American standards. Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of music in the historic Milton Congregational Church, home to a newly restored 1898 Steinway Grand Piano.
The concert stars acclaimed pianist Blair McMillen and his son, rising violinist Conor McMillen. This father-son duo will deliver an engaging performance that celebrates a diverse repertoire, sure to delight music lovers of all ages.
A reception will follow the concert, and all are welcome! While all tickets are complimentary, free-will donations are encouraged to help support the music series.
Space is limited! The church can accommodate up to 100 guests, so we encourage early registration to secure your spot.
Blair McMillen has been praised by the New York Times as “prodigiously accomplished and exciting,” recognized as one of the piano’s “brilliant stars.” A passionate advocate for contemporary and early keyboard music, Blair has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and the Detroit Institute of the Arts. His recent engagements include performances with the American Symphony Orchestra and a solo tour of Brazil sponsored by the US State Department. He serves on the faculties of Mannes, Juilliard, and Bard College/Conservatory.
Conor McMillen, at just 16 years old, has already made a name for himself, winning accolades such as the DownBeat Magazine Jazz Soloist Student Award, this year’s National YoungArts competition, and First Place in the inaugural Litchfield Jazz Camp Talent Search. He has performed at renowned venues, including Carnegie’s Weill Hall and Lincoln Center. Conor is a dedicated student of jazz violin and continues to hone his craft under the guidance of Grammy-nominated violinist Ben Sutin.
